Welcome to this site. We thank you for your interest.

Why in the hell would anyone call their site magazine79.com? There are two reasons.

First of all, 1979 was one of the best years in music. American Soul tunes included expensive arrangements. Thanks to people like the late Louis Johnson, the late Maurice White and many others, the Funk reached its peak. Earth, Wind & Fire recorded one of their best albums entitled “I Am” and, across the Atlantic Ocean, British Jazz-Funk was ready to develop further, when Incognito was founded that year.

Secondly, the guy behind this site, Imanuel, ran a booking agency called Agency79, during the first decade of this millennium. That agency put everyone on stage in Europe, including Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, Al McKay, George Benson, Carleen Anderson, Count Basic, Kool & The Gang, Eliane Elias, The Brand New Heavies, Spyro Gyra and Mezzoforte. As we said: Absolutely everyone in the Real Music community.

This site is basically still being built. It will feature articles about Real Music, interviews, reviews and a lot more. It will also be a good source for bookers and promoters.

On top of all of that, we will include stories on minorities and justice.

Thank you so much for visiting this site and let there be Funk!
