According to several media in the United States, including Billboard and "E! News", which claims to have the story exclusively, Erykah Badu will host the Soul Train Awards again this year. She will be the one honoring great artists and entertaining the audience on site, those who still watch TV and those staring at their monitors or devices.
During the event, which will take place on November 6th, 2016, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, but it will be aired on TV weeks later, on November 27th, 2016 at 8 p.m. EDT (equals 1 a.m. London time, on Nov. 28th), on both BET and Centric.
Edward Theodore "Teddy" Riley will be receiving the Legend Award, while Brandy will be honored with the 2nd annual Lady of Soul Award. Both will be recognized for their "longstanding presence in the music industry and influence on the world of soul and R&B music past and present".
Audiences loved last year's Soul Train Awards, during which Erykah made them laugh with simulated phone calls and a killer intro monologue.
Erykah was on Jimmy Kimmel's show with fellow artist Nas last night.
